Please note: The Office for Sustainability is pleased to announce a new partnership with Harvard Human Resources—the first-ever sustainability category for university-wide Harvard Heroes employee recognition program. As a result of the exciting partnership with Harvard Heroes, the Green Carpet Awards celebration will move to a bi-annual schedule and will next be celebrated in April 2014.

Harvard's Green Carpet Awards is a university-wide sustainability celebration and recognition event for students, staff, and faculty. The Green Carpet Awards was recommended by the University Greenhouse Gas Emissions Task Force as a key component to attain our goal, communicate our success, and honor our campus sustainability champions. At each event students, staff, and faculty are recognized from Harvard's 12 plus Schools and departments, reflecting the breadth and scope of sustainability initiatives across Harvard.
The new bi-annual schedule allows additional time for complex projects to not only come to fruition, but also be replicated on Harvard’s campus. The Green Carpet Awards will now focus on team projects only as individual staff achievements will continue to be celebrated at the Harvard Heroes event annually. New categories for team projects are also being considered, including: best student/staff collaboration, community outreach, and replicability. Please note the Harvard Heroes awards are for staff only. Student team project nominations will be considered as part of the bi-annual Harvard Green Carpet Awards.
